- YouTube was created in mid-February 2005 by three former PayPal employees. One of the founder, Karim was responsible for a few key projects in PayPal and was an early and key hire when the company first started; he received equity in the company too. When PayPal was sold to eBay, Karim received several million dollars at the young age of 23!
- In October 2006, Google Inc. announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the company for US$1.65 billion in
